Sponsor of the Month: Noble Stein Brewing Company

Noble SteinNoble Stein Brewing Company opened for business in October of 2016 with the simple objective of bringing great beers to the Indiana area. As an organization, Noble Stein believes that beer encompasses a wide range of flavor experiences and presents many rich traditions originating from all over the world.

Many of the brews produced at Noble Stein honor their respective heritage: a true-to-style Kolsch, a British ESB, and a traditional German-style Bock all sit on the menu currently. In addition to recognizing the history behind long-standing styles, Noble Stein also strives to produce newly formed substyles and creative twists, from the very popular New England IPA to pastry stouts. Their taproom provides a welcoming atmosphere to enjoy these brews, many of which can also be found at various restaurants and bars between Johnstown and Pittsburgh.

The owners of Noble Stein Brewing Company (Ben Harley and Zack Morrow) are both Indiana natives who were fortunate enough to participate in several different high school and recreational sports leagues. Additionally, many of the employees at the brewery played sports within Indiana County during their childhood and teen years. These experiences solidified the value of sports leagues in providing a healthy and fun outlet that truly unifies the community. Noble Stein is proud to support ICFC from this perspective.

ICFC Recognized at 2019 Indiana County Sports Hall of Fame ceremony:

The following is an excerpt from the 2019 Indiana County Sports Hall of Fame ceremony program:
“ICFC has no limits when it comes to soccer and growing the game in Indiana County. In 2006 ICFC established indoor and outdoor community programs for males and females of all age groups. The soccer program now has more than 150 members ranging in age from 10 to 70. In addition, it also organizes league play in over 30 and over 40 amateur leagues out of Pittsburgh, PA. All of the programs promote a recreational and interscholastic outlet for those who wish to continue active, social and fun lifestyles.”

The following is an excerpt from a speech given at the ceremony by ICFC Executive Director James Thompson:
“The Indiana County Football Club started as a small 4v4 summer league consisting of 6 teams. It is now a full-on 501(c)3 non-profit that is run by a board of directors and provides adult soccer programming to the Indiana County Community 48 weeks out of the year. It is important to note that the reason for the success of the ICFC is the community that supports it. At no point in time during the years of managing the club have we come across a facilities issue, a licensing issue, or a business issue where someone from the community didn’t come forward with a ‘how can I help you?’ approach. The ICFC is successful because of community support, and what better way is there to build a community than through sport and competition.”

Winter Futsal League Wrap-Up:

As we look back on another successful winter futsal league, there are some important takeaways outside of the cup winners: the foremost, of course, being that we presented, organized and funded a soccer-playing platform that kicked off in the first weekend of November and did not officially end until the last weekend of March. Yes, there were times that some of us may have gotten tired of playing, as well as times when a nagging injury may have stopped us from performing our best, but futsal was always there, week in and week out.

The competitiveness and camaraderie are what makes our club great, and an organized futsal league is the perfect outlet for a long Western PA winter.

Congratulations to the Community Cup Winners Sporting McKelvy, which ran a perfect table in the round-robin stages. Congratulations to Whites Woods Wolves, who played the pretty style of pass-and-play futsal across the entire league to easily secure the League Two Cup. And, finally, congratulations to Shelocta City FC for running a perfect table in cup play to capture the Premier League Futsal Cup.

The Cup Final was certainly a community event at which fans enjoyed the competitiveness of a well-fought final match. We as a club strive to place every member in a position to eventually participate in a cup final.

Summer 4v4 Schedule
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! 4v4 is officially underway. Group play is ongoing for both the Community Shield and the Vinny Cup. Weeks 8, 9 and 10 will be League Cup Play!

Park Clean-up Day
Saturday, June 15, 10:00 AM

Park Clean Up Day has been tentatively scheduled for the morning of Saturday, June 15th, beginning at 10 AM. Club members looking to give back to the White Township Park facility can dedicate a couple of hours to cleaning up the playground area. Email reminders will be sent, but please RSVP to [email protected] if you plan on attending.

ICCAP Power Pack
ICCAP’s Power Pack Program was established in 2009 to meet the weekend nutritional needs of children experiencing food insecurity in Indiana County. Currently, the program serves nearly 800 eligible children in 12 Indiana County elementary schools on a weekly basis during the school year.

Children are provided with a weekend package of food that includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and drinks. The program is funded by donations of food from corporate sponsors, local grocers, private contributions, and volunteers from the community.

This year, during 4v4, we will ask each player to donate one food item per week off of a designated list of eligible food items to contribute to this local cause.
