The Indiana O-40 team opened the 2013 season at Schenley Park in Pittsburgh against Dynamo United. The first half proved to be very tight, with few scoring opportunities for either team. The second half continued much as the first half had ended, but at the 50-minute mark, there was a scramble at the top of the Indiana penalty area. The Indiana backs were unable to clear the ball, which finally fell to a Dynamo attacker. He put a hard shot on goal, which keeper Mike Keisel got a hand on, but couldn’t prevent from going in the net. Indiana responded by increasing the pressure on the Dynamo goal, and with 10 minutes to go, Dynamo committed a hand ball in their penalty box. Jose Soriano converted the PK, and it was 1-1. Just a few minutes later, a scramble in front of the Dynamo goal resulted in an apparent go-ahead goal for Indiana, but the assistant’s flag was up, the goal was disallowed, and the game ended as a tie. Indiana O-40 travels to Harmarville next weekend.
