White Township fields hosted the over-40 showdown between 1st-place Indiana and 2nd-place North United. These two teams have a history of tight, hard-fought games, and this one turned out to be no exception. The first 20 minutes saw North United get slightly the better of the play, and this culminated with an open attacker behind the Indiana defense, and the visitors took the early lead. However, the hosts responded by picking up their level, and pressuring the North United defenders. About 10 minutes before half, Bryan Wilkins broke up a North United pass, and the deflection went to forward John Nekrosis. He returned the ball to an unmarked Wilkins, who calmly slotted it past the keeper to tie the game. The second half fell into a consistent pattern, with the ball moving back and forth across the middle third of the field, but tough defending on both ends allowing few true scoring opportunities. It was a hot day on a hard, bumpy field, and when the final whistle blew, both teams seemed somewhat relieved to end the game with a 1-1 draw. However, this result allowed Robinson to leapfrog both Indiana and North United, and to the top of the league standings. Indiana travels to Robinson for a second consecutive 1st-place showdown next week.
