Indiana’s O-40 squad visited Harmarville on Saturday, in a rematch of the second- and third-place teams from last season. The home team opened the game by dominating both possession and territory for the first 20 minutes. However, the Indiana backs did a masterful job in containing the attacks, and there were remarkably few good shots on keeper Kevin Kerr. After the 20-minute break, Harmarville seemed to have overextended themselves, and the game increasingly become a tight, even affair. There were few scoring chances, but just before the 60-minute break, Harmarville lofted a ball into the box which found an unmarked attacker. He headed the ball just over Kerr and into the net, and it was 1-0. Indiana was able to put some pressure on the Harmarville goal over the last 20 minutes, and with 5 minutes to go, they appeared to score. However, just as the week before, Indiana’s late goal was disallowed on an offside call, and the game ended as a hard-fought 1-0 loss. Indiana has their first home game of 2013 against Mt. Lebanon on April 20 at 4 pm.
