Harmarville’s O-40 squad visited Indiana on September 21, for a showdown between the 3rd and 5th place teams. The game opened well for Indiana, when a Harmarville back misplayed a ball, allowing Jose Soriano a direct path to the goal. The keeper came out, but Soriano deftly played the ball around him, and then rolled it in the net for a 1-0 lead. That score held up for most of the period, but late in the first half, Harmarville had a corner kick. No attacking player was able to get his head on the ball, but it did hit an Indiana player, and it ended up in the Indiana goal to tie the game. The second half was very evenly played, but the breaks were not favoring the home team. First, a Harmarville free kick deflected off an Indiana player and into the goal to give the visitors the lead. Then, just a few minutes later, a questionable penalty call give Harmarville a PK, which they converted. Indiana had several chances to narrow the deficit, but they weren’t able to convert, and the game ended 3-1, Harmarville.
