Indiana O-40 hosted Pittsburgh Dynamo United, who were sitting just above the Indiana in the league standings. The home team immediately took the initiative, and pressed the attack on the Dynamo goal. After about 5 minutes, Bryan Wilkins chipped a ball from about 25 meters out that floated over the keeper and into the goal to give Indiana a 1-0 lead. Dynamo responded with increased intensity, and that rest of the first half was a back-and-forth affair with both teams having numerous scoring opportunities, but no additional goals were scored. In the second half, Indiana slowly started to exert control over possession, and they squandered several good chances for an insurance goal. Finally, Matt McKelvy broke in alone on the Dynamo keeper. He touched the ball a little too far forward, but the keeper could not handle it cleanly, and McKelvy shepherded the ball across the line to put Indiana up 2-0. At this point, Dynamo threw everything they had into the attack, but Indiana keeper Kevin Kerr and the defense was equal to the task, and recorded their third straight shutout in O-40 action. Indiana hosts Harmarville at 4 pm next Saturday in the 100th O-40 game for the team – celebration to follow.
